Welcome to Double X!
Double X (FIRST Robotics Team 4856) is the official FIRST Robotics team of the Brearley and Chapin Schools in Manhattan, NY. The team draws interest from girls in grades eight through twelve, with many returning to the team to act as mentors later on in their educational career. Double X provides a valuable opportunity for girls to interact with corporate engineering sponsors, gain hands-on experience in engineering, and develop strong leadership skills to pursue a career in STEM, a male-dominated field.
During the 2016-2017 academic year, Double X successfully designed, programmed, and engineered a fully functional robot to enter the 2017 FIRST Robotics New York City Regional Competition at the Fort Washington Armory in New York, NY.
